A Unique Story
THE PLACE
The special ‘terroir’ of the Cachapoal Valley, Chile, the noble grape varieties grown and the traditional expertise of this famous French Château give these quality Chilean wines their classic French touch. The origin of the wine’s name comes from the newly restored ancient village of Totihue where the war chief of the Chilean people ‘El Toqui’ lived.
THE WINES
El Toqui Chardonnay. Has instantly appealing pear and tropical fruits with a twist of citrus.
El Toqui Chardonnay Reserva. Oak maturation and lees ageing adds a delicious nutty note to the long flavours of exotic dried fruits.
El Toqui Cabernet Sauvignon. This impressive wine has charming, seductive and intense blackcurrant fruits with velvet smoothness.
El Toqui Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva. Twelve months oak influence imparts a silky richness to the vigorous fruit with pronounced minty appeal.
El Toqui Cabernet Sauvignon Prestige. Simply a symphony of morello cherry fruit with a classic concentrated vanilla finish.
Leyenda del Toqui (selected stores). Only produced in top vintages this has all the ingredients of the ‘wow’ factor. French oak influence adds complexity to the concentrated layers of red fruits, cedar and chocolate.
‘Once again Dunnes Stores were the first to launch these classic wines on the European market’.
